The Flower of Farewell

Somewhere the flower of farewell is blooming.
Endlessly it yields its pollen, which we breathe.
Even in the breeze of this beginning hour we breathe farewell.

  1. Thank you, Ruth and Lorenzo, for this amazing contribution to the daily lives of so many during the past year. There have been many situations in which the morning reading of Rilke changed the course of my day, always for the better of course. And while AYWR will come to an end, there is no farewell to either of you or to Rilke. We journey on, arm in arm, made stronger by the miles we have already traveled together.

  2. I join George in praising this marvelous blog. I think I tweeted every one of the posts; I wanted everyone to know about this place where word and image combine in ways that provoke, guide, inspire, and leave us in awe. I hope the blog will remain up just so we can come and visit when we need a serene place to think.

Wishing you the very best in the coming new year!

  6. By you I discovered the words of R.M.Rilke. A helpfull, a gift for (re)breath. Ancient words but still for today and they are blooming in my heart. Thanks a lot both Ruth and Lorenzo for this constant sharing's year.

  7. this is the essential belief. if our society could manage this at its hub all else would have the chance to fall out from it in rightful construction. without this at the hub, no matter any convincing construction, it will fall apart.

    yes! yes! yes!

  8. I, too, will miss this blog. I couldn't have stated it more eloquently than George did above as his comment reflects almost exactly my own experience with AYWR. Many thanks, Ruth and Lorenzo. Wishing all of you the very best in the coming year.

"Everything is blooming most recklessly; if it were voices instead of colors, there would be an unbelievable shrieking into the heart of the night."

~ Rainer Maria Rilke

Go ahead, bloom recklessly!
